What if you could own a Harley-Davidson with electronic controls for less than Rs. 3 lakh? That reality arrived this week as Hero MotoCorp and Harley-Davidson launched the X440 T in India at Rs. 2,79,500.

The X440 T now sits at the top of the 440 cc lineup. It brings features typically found on bikes costing twice as much.

What Makes the X440 T Different

The new X440 T keeps the 440 cc air and oil cooled engine from the standard model. But Harley-Davidson added 72 changes to make it better.

The biggest upgrade is Ride-by-Wire technology. This electronic throttle system allows two new riding modes. Road mode gives full power for highway riding. Rain mode softens throttle response for wet conditions.

Switchable traction control now prevents rear wheel slip. Riders can also turn off rear ABS if needed. These safety features rarely appear on bikes under Rs. 3 lakh in India.

Industry-First Safety Feature

The X440 T introduces Panic Braking Alert to the segment. All turn signals blink rapidly when you brake hard. This warns drivers behind you to slow down fast.

No other bike in this price range offers this feature today.

Comfort and Design Updates

Harley-Davidson redesigned the rear section completely. The new sub-frame supports a revised tail section. Updated grab rails give pillion riders better grip points.

The fuel tank gets subtle styling tweaks. New switchgear feels more premium with better tactility. The exhaust system is entirely new with a fresh catalytic converter, heat shield, and end can.

Improved wiring packaging cleans up the overall look. These changes show attention to detail rarely seen in affordable motorcycles.

Price Cuts Across the Range

Harley-Davidson reduced prices on the standard X440 by up to Rs. 25,000. This makes the entire lineup more accessible.

The X440 S base variant now starts at Rs. 2,54,900. The X440 Vivid costs Rs. 2,34,500. All prices are ex-showroom.

Bookings open December 7, 2025 through Harley-Davidson dealerships, Hero Premia stores, and online channels.

Why This Launch Matters

The original X440 launched in July 2023. It became the most approachable Harley-Davidson ever sold. The bike opened doors for thousands of first-time Harley buyers in India.

The X440 T continues that mission. Electronic controls and advanced safety features at this price point will attract more riders to the brand.

Premium CVO Models Return

Harley-Davidson also brought back its Custom Vehicle Operations motorcycles for 2025.

The CVO Road Glide starts at Rs. 67,36,720. The CVO Street Glide begins at Rs. 63,03,142. Both prices are ex-showroom.

These premium cruisers use the Milwaukee-Eight VVT 121 engine. This powerplant delivers 115 horsepower and 189 Nm of torque.

The Road Glide features the distinctive Sharknose fairing. The Street Glide comes with the redesigned Batwing fairing.

Both models include a 12.3-inch TFT screen. The Skyline OS infotainment system runs navigation, music, and bike settings. Premium audio systems and exclusive paint options complete the package.

Softail Family Gets New Engines

The entire Softail cruiser lineup in India now uses three versions of the Milwaukee-Eight 117 engine.

Classic, Custom, and High Output variants are available now. Each version offers different power characteristics for different riding styles.

These updated Softail models reached Harley-Davidson dealerships across India this month.

The Bottom Line

The Harley-Davidson X440 T brings technology and safety features previously reserved for premium motorcycles. At Rs. 2,79,500, it remains the most feature-rich Harley you can buy under Rs. 3 lakh. Price cuts on other X440 variants make the brand more accessible than ever. Bookings start December 7, 2025.
